The night of the 28th of April, the Zambia national football team died in a plane crash, a tragic accident where there weren't no survivors. The eighteen players, the 3 trainers and the president were travelling from Port Louis (Isla Mauricio) to Dakar (Senegal). The accident took place 2 kilometers after they left Libreville (Gabón). The Gabonese Navy investigated the entire crash site to find passengers, but they found no survivors.
The Zambia football team was doing a very good job in the first phase of the African Cup, and that accident, was terrible for the country. The plane, a Buffalo from the Zambian Army, stopped to refuel in the Libreville Airport and, a few minutes after the left the airport, the plane started falling to the sea, for unknowns reasons.
